Romantic Ideas for Valentine's Day
Might want to forward this to the hubby or special guy in your life...we've decided to make their lives a lot easier this year!! Romantic ideas for Valentines Day are difficult to come up with; and the pressure is on in many cases to do just that. Ladies, these gift ideas go both ways...the boys need to feel the love too!
With a little research and thought, you can make this the best Valentines Day yet. You can really make your partner feel special if you set into action one of these romantic ideas for Valentines Day. The following are very simple gifts you can do ONLINE but very sweet: name a star after that special someone, have a photo turned into a painting, create a personalized romance novel, sign your partner up for a gift of the month club, send your partner a message in a bottle.
Other ideas, that cannot be carried out online would be: go for a romantic photo shoot together, plan a little weekend getaway, plan and make a romantic dinner in…yes candles and flowers are fun on this one. Arrange for a night to see a favorite musician, comic, play etc. Make a love coupon book, make a mixed CD of favorite songs between the two of you, leave a little surprise under the pillow: monogrammed jewelry is a huge hit at the moment. Plan a bubble bath accented with rose petals, candles and music. Rent their favorite movie, get their favorite snacks and emphasize that it’s all about them. Do they have an interest in flying, riding or something of that nature? Plan a lesson or arrange for that first experience together. The ideas are endless here; adventure is great. Breakfast in bed, little notes scattered through the house with reasons you love them, dance lessons. Shall we go on?
Don't forget to tell us how Valentines Day went...we want STORIES!!! Good, happy, funny, horribly horrible alike!! What do you guys do on this day of love?!?!
Happy Friday!

Happy MONDAY!!!!
Happy Monday everyone! We hope you had a wonderfully relaxing weekend! If you were a victim of yet more snow, we hope you were able to have some fun in it...or stay bundled snuggling inside! We surprisingly received less additional snow than predicted...which we were abundantly thankful for! Not that the white landscape isn't beautiful...but it really has been a bit much-
So what then were we doing all weekend? We were busy little bees in the workshop creating some really adorable monogrammed gifts that we'd like to share now with you!! Some are brand new monogrammed gifts...some are oldies but goodies. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we have had a ton of personalized jewelry orders flowing in...give the hubby a nudge with one of these:
Not digging the personalized jewelry idea? Not sure WHY but you're not alone...another popular order being filled as we speak is...
Cute, huh? We love 'em too! Do you like this monogrammed belt buckle? Every pattern or solid color you can think of...perfect with any pair of jeans or khakis! Super-duper cute and yes, they come with the belt strip too!
Okay, back to work now...if you see anything you like, be sure to order by February 1st to ensure Valentine's Day Delivery

Let It Snow!
Totally thought we were done with Christmas tunes but this seems appropriate...9 more inches yesterday, 2 expected tonight and another "winter storm" coming on Sunday!! The snowfall this winter is INSANE! We're atleast thinking we want to look cute in the midst of all of this horrible weather, which is why our cozy scarves are on major sale through the next week! That's right, a monogrammed cozy scarf with matching gloves for next to nothing. Whatta deal!
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
There's no reason why below zero temps have to equal frumpy unattractive apparel! These cozy scarves are so warm, so soft and even better...SO CUTE! Loving them! Super excited to march out the monogrammed beach towels and tote bags but for now, it is what it is. WINTER. COLD. SNOWY.
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Organizing Life!!
Well, one of my resolutions that I kept to myself was to REALLY declutter, reorganize, deep clean etc. I won't lie and pretend that I have done all of that but I've been trying and succeeding here and there along the way. I'll tell you: the house feels so much more relaxed, I feel more relaxed. Being organized is the thing that makes me feel the best, but for some reason is the absolute hardest to do. As I typed that I realized that many of the things that feel best to me are difficult to do! WHY is that?!?! I digress...
So, how did I finally do it? Well, I've started on very small spaces. The kids toy room & family room were first, for obvious reasons-hmmm, Christmas and baby son's birthday on the 26th! That was a necessity so out came some nifty new containers that surprisingly made every one smile! Check them out!
Next came the shoe, coat "nook". We unfortunately do not have a mud room so there's a little nook in the kitchen, just off the garage that is generally where all of these things land. Prior to the re-org, they landed over kitchen chairs. Yuck! We now have a happy home for them called hooks...still looking for shoe holder that is not an eye sore!
And OH CLOSETS...honestly that was just a matter of DONATING the zillions of clothes that we no longer wear. Moving right along to the bathrooms, these totes made sense of the madness under the sink. I HEART THEM!
Mission accomplished. Are you looking for some nifty storage totes? Check us out, of course!

HaPpY nEw YeAr!
Wow, it's been almost a month since our last post! Between the holiday rush and family commitments, blogging kind of fell to the wayside. We've missed you! So.....it's New Years and of course that means promises, resolutions, striving for better habits. What are yours or do you partake in the promising practices?
Lose weight, work out, eat healthy, stop using bad words? Those are obviously the most common...are you doing something more creative? Why do we do these said resolutions? What is the meaning? Here's an excerpt about the history of New Year's resolutions; the celebration of passing of time leads us to become somewhat introspective. It's good for the soul...how can you be your best self this year?

The History of New Year's Resolutions
The tradition of the New Year's Resolutions goes all the way back to 153 B.C. Janus, a mythical king of early Rome was placed at the head of the calendar.
With two faces, Janus could look back on past events and forward to the future. Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and many Romans looked for forgiveness from their enemies and also exchanged gifts before the beginning of each year.
The New Year has not always begun on January 1, and it doesn't begin on that date everywhere today. It begins on that date only for cultures that use a 365-day solar calendar. January 1 became the beginning of the New Year in 46 B.C., when Julius Caesar developed a calendar that would more accurately reflect the seasons than previous calendars had.
The Romans named the first month of the year after Janus, the god of beginnings and the guardian of doors and entrances. He was always depicted with two faces, one on the front of his head and one on the back. Thus he could look backward and forward at the same time. At midnight on December 31, the Romans imagined Janus looking back at the old year and forward to the new. The Romans began a tradition of exchanging gifts on New Year's Eve by giving one another branches from sacred trees for good fortune. Later, nuts or coins imprinted with the god Janus became more common New Year's gifts.
In the Middle Ages, Christians changed New Year's Day to December 25, the birth of Jesus. Then they changed it to March 25, a holiday called the Annunciation. In the sixteenth century, Pope Gregory XIII revised the Julian calendar, and the celebration of the New Year was returned to January 1.
The Julian and Gregorian calendars are solar calendars. Some cultures have lunar calendars, however. A year in a lunar calendar is less than 365 days because the months are based on the phases of the moon. The Chinese use a lunar calendar. Their new year begins at the time of the first full moon (over the Far East) after the sun enters Aquarius- sometime between January 19 and February 21.
Although the date for New Year's Day is not the same in every culture, it is always a time for celebration and for customs to ensure good luck in the coming year.
